LANZAROTE, ISLAND OF FIRE, ISLAND OF VOLCANOS

Lanzarote is characterized by the lunar aridity of its landscape, its volcanos, craters and immense extensions of lava, its vineyards covered with volcanic ash, the clean and white color of its houses and villages, as well as the blue and emerald of its Atlantic waters.

Lanzarote is the most oriental island from the Canaries, it was declared “Biosphere Reserve” by the UNESCO in 1993. The volcanic area of Lanzarote extends along a great part of its surface due to the volcanic activity of the XVIII century.

The Coast of Lanzarote is formed by cliffs such as Famara, a great number of attractive and golden sand beaches and small creeks and volcanic tubes such as Jameos del Agua” which is the largest submarine volcanic tunnel of the world. This tunnel is called the Atlantis Tunnel. Next to Lanzarote they are also the small islands of Alegranza, La Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este y Roque del Oeste.

Visit the seven wonders of Lanzarote, Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verdes, Mirador del Río, Jardín de Cactus, Castillo de San José, Monumento al Campesino y Montañas del Fuego.
